ONS: Why did you decide to incorporate a recovery product into your program?
Coach Palmer: We decided to incorporate a recovery product into our program mainly to help our athletes get bigger and stronger. Because we are dealing with high school athletes, we knew that the majority of these boys were not eating properly to support their bodies during their workouts and they especially weren't eating properly to recover.
ONS: What were the most important factors in choosing a recovery product?
Coach Palmer: The most important factors in choosing Critical Reload was the quality of ingredients, the fact that the product has been proven with athletes at the collegiate level, that it's NCAA compliant and the ingredients are tested for harmful substances, and the cost is more than reasonable.
ONS: What objections did you have in implementing a recovery product into your program?
Coach Palmer: We didn't want to implement any products that had unnecessary and/or harmful ingredients to our boys. We were concerned that a lot of the products we see advertised in bodybuilding magazines or health stores are too expensive and ingredients can't be trusted. We wanted a high quality product that was safe and has been proven to work that would not put our boy's at health risk.
ONS: Why did you choose Critical Reload, by ONS Performance?
Coach Palmer: We chose Critical Reload because it of its high quality tested and certified ingredients; it has a perfect balance of those ingredients to facilitate and maximize recovery and proven effective with high-caliber collegiate athletes. The Critical Reload Dispenser is extremely easy to use and for our athletes to get their required amount nutrients immediately after workouts. Not to mention, Critical Reload tastes great and it is not costly at all.
ONS: Have you experienced any measurable results achieved by the Critical Reload performance & recovery shake since you started using it?
Coach Palmer: In the four months we have been using Critical Reload, the athletes that have consistently taken the product have experienced an average 11.5 lbs. increase in lean body mass, while dropping on average 1.0% body fat. Some of our best results are athletes who have put on 15-25 lbs. of lean body mass while athletes dropping as much as 4-5% body fat.
ONS: Can you please give us an example of how you implement Critical Reload into your program?
Coach Palmer: We use Critical Reload on a daily basis utilizing the Dispenser. I make the Critical Reload either the night before or the morning of. After each weight training class, the athletes will get their cups from their lockers and fill up in my office where the Dispenser is on a portable cart. We do this everyday after workouts, regardless if whether it is a strength day, speed day, or just a flexibility/recovery day. The Critical Reload Dispenser is so fast and convenient. It takes a class of 30-40 boys no longer than 4-5 minutes to have their shake and be on their way to their next class.
ONS: What type of feedback do you get from your athletes?
Coach Palmer: We have had nothing but positive feedback from our athletes using Critical Reload. Immediately they loved the taste of both vanilla and chocolate. Within about 2 weeks of consistent use, they were feeling more rejuvenated from workouts and better recovered before the next workout.
ONS: What are the key advantages of the Critical Reload dispenser?
Coach Palmer: The key advantages of the dispenser are how quickly it flows to allow mass amounts of athletes to get their product in a timely fashion, as well as how easy it is to take apart and clean and then put back together. The process literally takes 15-20 minutes max. Ultimately, what I like most about the Critical Reload Dispenser is how quickly athletes can fill up and be on their way, and how simple it is to clean and maintain the machine.
ONS: Would you recommend the Critical Reload dispenser program? If so, why?
Coach Palmer: I would definitely recommend Critical Reload and the Dispenser to any program that wants an advantage, no matter what types of athletes or sports using it. It will provide proper recovery quickly and you don't have to worry about whether or not your athletes are leaving your facility and eating the right balance of nutrients to recover for the next workout. You just gave it to them.
ONS: Is there anything you'd like to add?
Coach Palmer: Coach Bewley (Mike Bewley) is extremely knowledgeable and helpful when we started the program and has continued to help us as a program. ONS Performance is the best nutrition company I've worked with –- very professional and helpful.
